Choice

I think what I’ve really taken to my heart is the simple fact that everyone has a choice.

When someone doesn’t respond to you or hasn’t sought you out, well, yes, all the peripheral reasons could hold true: they are busy, they have something else to work on, there is an unresolved core issue in their life, etc. etc.

But the core issue should be this: they have chosen not to contact you. This, and this alone is the reason that you have not heard from them.

And it goes without saying that the same is true for just about everything in your life. What are typically given as reasons are mostly peripheral or excuses. At the very core, things happen because someone else intended for them to happen. It was their choice. And the choice to not do something has just as much weight as the choice to do something.

I think if everyone had come to this realization, then we would live all lived much peacefully.
